The South Plattsburgh Fire District plays host each year to the members and spouses of the South Plattsburgh Fire Department for the annual inspection and award banquet. Many members of the department were recognized for various achievements including years of service, highest call attendance percentage and the Firefighter of the year.

Captain Tim Schawartz was awarded the Firefighter of the year honors. Cited during the announcement were his dedication to the department with year after year of high attenance at incidents, work details and meetings. Tim is a stong EMT and Firefighter serving members of the district well.
